Referral FAQ

Will my patients be returned to me?

Of course - we will only undertake the work you prescribe, and will always keep you fully informed as to how the treatment has progressed, and on completion any x-rays provided will be returned to you. If however should you prefer us to take on full care of your patient, this can be arranged.

How much will it cost the patient?

IV Sedation is £190 per session and we aim to complete as much as we can per appointment. As a general rule of thumb, we find that patients respond best to no more than 2 hours work under IV sedation at one time.

What do I need to provide?

Please provide us with as much information about the patient as possible, a full medical history and ideally a dental history that includes their response to dentistry so far. If you can supply any digital radiographs please email them to us along with the referral form, alternatively send us original films which we will return upon completion of treatment.

Is it safe?

All our practitioners are SAAD trained and follow the GDC ‘Maintaining Standards’ guidelines for the provision of IV Sedation.

Are there any contraindications?

IV Sedation for patients under 16 years of age is not generally condoned by the GDC. There are no hard and fast contraindications for treating the elderly provided that their health falls within American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) grades I or II – please speak to us for advice if you are unsure of your patient’s suitability for this procedure.
